Equitable Stroke Control (ESC)
Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) is a method of recording scores used to calculate a golf handicap. Its purpose is to avoid recording a very high score on an individual hole which might inflate the handicap calculation.

Using ESC, the maximum score on any hole will be Double Bogey Plus Handicap Strokes (dots) given on that hole.

The total scores used for handicaps will appear on the handicap detail page for each player.

VEMA has a maximum score rule during most rounds. That score is the ESC score and once you reach that many strokes you may pick up your ball and move to the next hole.
